Car history: |
It is an early production car #1,489. There were 38,762 Corvettes built for 1969, 22,129 being t-top coupes. This is a numbers matching car. Has the optional 350ci V8 producing 350hp mated to a 4-speed M21 transmission with power steering, manual brakes, and posi rear end. The car has the following notable options: L46: 11:1 compression 350ci V8 making 350hp, 12,846 (33) with this option. M21: Optional 4-Speed Muncie, 13,741 (35) with this option. A31: Power windows, 9,816 (25) with this option. N40: Power steering, 22,866 (59) with this option. UA6: Factory alarm system, 12,436 (32) with this option. It is a solid car with a lot of originality. The original bonding strips are still in place indicating zero accident history, the bird cage is solid with no rust and under the hood, it retains its original engine as mentioned, original SMOG pump, original Rochester carb that has been rebuilt, original intake manifold, and original valve covers and air cleaner. The rallye wheels are in great shape and has newer Coker redline tires. The chrome looks to be original and is in great shape as well. Also has the original Astro-Ventilation glass. I believe the odometer has rolled over and the original mileage is just over 113,000. The car has been repainted in the past and it is still showing quite well, but, there are a few minor boo boos. It is originally paint code 984 which is Daytona Yellow but it is now painted code 972 Can-Am White. The black interior code ZQ4 is correct, however, the seats are not correct. They are from a 1981 Corvette. I bought it this way and they are actually more supportive and more comfortable than the original 1969 seats. Also, the windshield wiper trim cover is absent, again, I bought it this way but the actuator works flawlessly when the wipers are turned on. The radio is aftermarket and works well. All of the guages work, all of the lights work, and the vacuum headlight doors work perfectly and are perfectly aligned. The exhaust looks and sounds great and has a great lopey exhaust note put out by the high compression 350. Overall this is a wonderful driver. It is not a show car but certainly could be taken to the next level quite easily. I checked as best I could but could not see the tank sticker, would need to drop the tank to verify if the tank sticker is still there. I have some documenation for maintenance and upkeep that the previous owner had done at renown Corvette shop Tracy Performance. Additionally, I have the owner's manual, both sets of original keys, and the original jack and tools. Also the spare tire carrier is still in place along with the original spare tire and wheel. I recently took it on an extended freeway to trip and maintained 65mph and the temp never got above 190. It's a very fun and solid car. BiN $20,000. Ended at $16,000 (RnM) on May 8, 2016. Discounted at $18,500 on May 16, 2016. Sold at $ 18,250 on May 26, 2016. |
